Funeral services are designed to meet the needs of the family, and every attempt is made to accommodate the family’s requests. The Chairman of the Deacon Board will speak with the family regarding the items listed below. Please do not finalize your service date and time without speaking with the Chairman of the Deacon Board.
No funeral services will be conducted at the church when the Pastor or Pastor’s designee is unavailable, or if it conflicts with other previously scheduled church events. Permission to use another minister to conduct the service is granted solely by the Pastor.
Funeral Services for BCCOG Members
Funeral services for members and their immediate family (mother, father, children and spouse) are part of the normal ministry responsibilities offered by our church. As a part of the member/family classification listed above, the funeral services will include full use of the church, choir, musician, ushers and Pastor or his designee to preside over the services and to deliver the eulogy. These services will be provided without cost.
Funeral Services for Non-Members and Inactive Members
Conducting funerals for people who have no connection with the church or those who have not consistently attended during the previous six (6) months will be provided based on the schedule below:
(1) Use of Church (Services will be conducted by Pastor and officials of BCCOG) – $400.00
(2) Repass/Use of Church Fellowship Hall – Building Only – $100.00
(3) Repass/Use of Church Fellowship Hall – including BCCOG providing meal – $700.00
Anyone requesting use of the church and/or Church Fellowship Hall for Funeral Services should contact the Chairman of the Deacon Board. The current Chairman is Deacon Ann Faulk. No other person is authorized to discuss, make arrangements or agreements as it relates to funeral services to be held at Brownsville Community Church of God. The Chairman will then coordinate and contact the appropriate individuals who will participate in the funeral service.
FUNERAL SERVICES / USE OF FACILITIES AGREEMENT
A funeral service held in the church is a service of worship, celebrating the deceased’s life and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Consequently, all parts of the service are to be consistent with the worship practices of Brownsville Community Church of God.
Funeral Services for Non-Members and Inactive Members
- Conducting funerals for people who have no connection with the church or those who have not consistently attended during the previous six (6) months will be provided based on the schedule below.
- Funeral Services will be officiated by Pastor Toliver or his designee. The church Minister of Music will provide music for the service. Officials of Brownsville Community Church of God will be in charge of all phases of the church service.
